We are inviting you to the next film screening of Kite Runner at the auditorium of Salt Galata on Saturday Oct 8th at 2 pm screening the movie Life in the Taliban’s Afghanistan created by Isobel Yeung.
Isobel Yeung is a British long-form documentary senior correspondent and producer. She has reported on social issues in such as gender roles, women’s rights and corruption. In 2014, Yeung was hired by Vice News and relocated to the US, settling in New York City.
Yeung covered in this movie the situation of women’s rights under the governance of the Taliban and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the country stemming from a shortage of food and medical supplies as well as a collapsed economy. This movie is one of the most toughest watches of females in Afghanistan.
After the movie we will have a discussing and talk with the participants about future strategies regarding the role of females in Afghanistan esspecially as media workers.
The talk and discussion will start at three and will be live streamed on Zoom and the facebook site of Kite Runner.
