Immediately after the US pull-out from Afghanistan, Taliban forces occupied the Hollywood Gate complex, which is claimed to be a former CIA base in Kabul. The Taliban finds countless aircraft, weapons and pieces of military equipment.
The documentarian Ibrahim Nash’at provides with his documentary Hollywoodgate an incomplete but vital glimpse into Afghanistan’s new status quo. Over the course of one year, the film exposes the transformation of a fundamentalist militia into a military regime.
You have the chance to watch Hollywoodgate for the first time in Turkey during a private screening at postane as a participant and team member of the Kite-Runner community.
After the screening, we will have a discussion about the movie and the current developments in Afghanistan. Snacks and refreshments will be offered as well.
