We are pleased to invite you to the opening ceremony of the Mahalla Festival 2024 under the title Memento at the Ioakimion Girls High School in Balat Istanbul on November 15th at 6 pm.
The Festival is organized by the team of the cultural initiative diyalog (the Mahalla Festival) in cooperation with the Kite-Runner program supported the International Media Support – IMS – and the Cultural Ministry of Austria.
From November 15 to November 30, the Mahalla Festival at the Ioakimion Girls High School offers a platform for artistic exchange.
The primary focus of Memento is on a reflection of global power structures, the alteration of gender roles, an awareness of a world that necessitates acknowledgment of human minorities and environmental protection alike, the enhancement of resilience, and the advancement of collaborative artistic endeavours.

Most of the artists and media activists will personally present their works created special for Memento Festival and for the venue of the former Greek Girls School.

The public events of Memento will run until the 30th of November.
During the opening ceremony, we will offer refreshments and snacks.
