Afghan Poetry: Uranus Musamen
Uranus Musamen is part of a group of young Women Poets in Istanbul, rebelling against the genderapartheid politics of the Taliban in Afghanistan. The graceful protest of the women is sharper than a sword against the suppression of women in Afghanistan. "I want that the sky is free, I am a Hawk," she says, "when men are scared, women get like lions."

My Burka and Me
Dr. Huda Hashimi performs during the Event, "New Voices from Afghanistan", 29.11.24, at the Yuvakimyon Greek Girls School during the Mahalla Festival Memento. She puts herself in the shoes of a teenager who doesn't understand why she has to wear the burka.
